Executive Director

In late 2015 Carol Polk answered God’s call to start Pivot Ministry to make a difference locally for His glory. This ministry captures her passion for empowering individuals and capitalizes on a management career that includes co-founding a successful company and that spans multiple industries such as professional services, consumer goods, global sourcing, computer hardware, and financial services. Carol holds an MBA from Wake Forest University.

A committed Christian since age eight, Carol has been an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church since 1983 and has a long list of life experiences that relate to Pivot’s mission. She grew up in one of the 20 poorest counties in the U.S., has taught GED classes, mentored the homeless, worked with a teen dropout, and nurtured many through job and career changes. Upon reviewing Carol’s professional and personal background, a fellow Christian said, “I’ve always known that God prepares us for what He wants us to do, but I’ve never seen it on paper.”

Michelle Minnich

Michelle Minnich

Director of Programming and Community Outreach

Although she has not practiced law in many years, Michelle’s professional background as an attorney is in commercial real estate law and business transactions. She has been and continues to be very involved in several community ministries, as well as with her church. She is grateful for the opportunity with Pivot to serve God and others in this position. The skills and strengths Michelle brings to the table are her administrative, organizational, and project management experience, as well as the ability to connect with people relationally while sharing the love of Jesus.

Michelle is thrilled to be married to her college sweetheart, Steve. They are parents to a daughter and two sons. She enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Ivonne Guerra

Ivonne Guerra

Administrative Coordinator

Ivonne was born in Texas and raised in the beautiful state of North Carolina.

She has worked in the customer relations management field for over 10 years. Ivonne began her journey with a State Farm Insurance agency, helping customers identify needs and services. She then worked for Pepsi, upselling beverages and consumer goods like chips and drinks with a focus on volume growth and product details. She also worked for HanesBrands, selling merchandise and maintaining business relationships. As a product research analyst, Ivonne assisted in finding products for customers and retail businesses with a goal of ensuring business growth with her world class customer service interactions. Among the many strengths she brings to her new role at Pivot are interpersonal relationships, computer and analytical skills, organizational abilities, communication, and her engaging smile. Her energy, enthusiasm, and passion for doing God’s work is obvious.

Ivonne hopes to continue developing herself into the woman God has called her to be. Consistent with Pivot’s values and mission, Ivonne also invests her volunteer time mentoring young women at The Winston- Salem Street School, where they learn about personality traits, interpersonal life skills, and share life experiences to help each other become a better version of themselves. Happily married to her husband Jose, they have three amazing sons – Adrian, Andres, Kain – and 2 dogs, Kora and Hamster. In her free time, she enjoys Zumba exercises, finds joy in cooking for her family, and delights in hiking with her husband.
